Thursday, December 4
  • The Math Team will meet in Room 304 right after school today to prepare for today's meet.

  • The Coat Drive is collecting until 12/12.
  • Toys for Tots can be brought in unwrapped until 12/23.
  • The deadline for signing up for the Holiday Pops trip is Friday, Dec. 5. Don't miss out!
  • Any 8th grade students interested in football next year or would like to join the weight program at the High School, please come to a meeting on Wed., 12/10, at 7:45 in the cafeteria.
Tuesday, December 2
  • There will be a Newspaper meeting today after school.
  • Any member of the Math Team who has not returned their permission forms for Thursday's meet should see Mr. Leonard.
  • The Music Department is sponsoring a trip to the Boston Pop's Holiday concert on Thursday, Dec. 18. Stop down to the Music Room for a permission slip.
  • There will be a Student Council meeting today after school in Ms. Yarrows' Room in 612.
  • Peer Leaders will be having their Annual Candy Cane Gram Sale. The sale will be for one week only, Dec. 1 through 5, during all 3 lunches. Candy Canes are 50 cents each with delivery on Dec. 23. Candy canes can be delivered to staff and/or students. Place your order now!
  • Eights graders who have submitted an application to private school should make an appointment with Mrs. Howard.
  • The Merrimac Softball League is holding a spring registration on Wed, Dec. 3, from 6-8 p.m. at the Merrimac Public Library.
  • Picture retakes will be on December 10. Please return old pictures at this time. Students can use their original order forms. New order forms are only required if students are being photographed for the first time.

  • The Coffee Mugs defeated Imperfect Perfection! Team Soccer and Colla Poppers played to a 3-3 tie in Tuesday's thrilling Intramural action!

  • Congratulations to the Pentucket 8th grade girls' team in beating Tyngsboro , their all-time rivals with a winning score of 21-20. Excellent game girls!
  • Today is voting day for the 2008-2009 Yearbook cover. You will be voting during lunch. Voting results will be announced on Thursday, Nov. 20.

  • We are collecting food (non-perishable items) to benefit the Betsy Conte Food Drive in Haverhill and new unwrapped toys this year for the Salisbury Boys and Girls Club. Thank you for your support!

  • Such an exciting weekend for Pentucket youth sports! Congratulations to the cheerleaders for a very impressive 2nd place finish in their competition on Saturday! We are proudly displaying their trophy in the Main Office. Also in the Office is the trophy for our Super Bowl Champion football team. Pentucket beat Hamilton-Wenham in an exciting game last night. Congratulations to both teams for outstanding performances!

  • Today is the last meet for the boys and girls cross-country team. It is at Pipestave Hill. there will be a bus bringing you to Pipestave, but it will not be returning to school. Please make sure you make arrangements to be picked up at Pipestave after the meet.

Friday, October 24
  • Reminder to the Cross Country Team: Monday, Oct. 27, is our last meet. It is at Pipestave Hill. The bus will bring us to the meet, but it will NOT return to school. You must find transportation home.
  • Congratulations to the boys and girls cross-country Team for their race in Gloucester yesterday.   The boys team finished in 6th place out of 17 teams and the girls finished 9th out of 18 places. Congratulations to all who participated!

  • Congratulations to the boys and girls cross-country team. Both teams ran a great race! For the boys, Liam Dow came in 1st place followed by Joe Labrecque, Drew Sullivan, Mike Nicholas, Tom Labrecque and Julian Wildes. For the girls, Marissa Porter came in 4th place followed by Lily Owens in 7th place. Congratulations to all of the runners!

Wednesday, September 10
  • Anyone interested in learning about the Math Team should attend a meeting Thursday after school in room 304.
  • Any student who would like to come to the Gym during Skills period may sign up tomorrow with Mr. Leonard during Skills.
  • This Thursday, Sept. 11, there will be a meeting for those who are interested in running Cross-country. The meeting will take place in the cafe immediately following school. Please make arrangements to take the late bus or have your parents pick you up. Woodwind lessons with Mr. Schumacher will begin on Wed., Sept. 10. All woodwind players (both 7th and 8th graders) enrolled in Concert Band and/or Jazz Band, should report to the auditorium lobby (at the entrance to the auditorium) with their instrument and music according to the following schedule: 
    • flutes, period 2
    • clarinets, period 3
    • saxophones, period 4.
  • For those new to the program, these are group lessons similar to those you took in elementary school. They are required of all students in the Concert and Jazz bands.
