MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD – with Mr. Honer, USATF certified track and field coach and High School History teacher is happy to announce and plan for the 4th year of track and field team for the Middle School! We will focus on functional strength, and flexibility, as we learn sprinting, hurdling, jumping, throwing and distance events. We will work to challenge you at whatever ability level you are at. We will meet Monday, Thursdays and Fridays right after school on the track (right behind the middle school). The benefits of track and field extend to all sports! The dates are: Tentative dates April 8, 2016 – May 26, 2016 Monday, Thursday, and Friday 2:30-4:00pm. Cost $150 Location: M.S. Track Field.

“SAT PREP CLASS” for Juniors - Matthew Smith, M.Ed., Guidance Department - SAT Prep sessions will focus on the strengthening of verbal, writing, and problem solving skills, individualized practice based on students’ unique needs, test taking strategies, small group interactive format, practice test sections under timed conditions, low student to teacher ratios. Checks and money orders will be accepted and should be made out to Community Education, Pentucket Regional School District, 22 Main Street, West Newbury, MA 01985 (please do not send in cash with students). All students will need to be registered prior to the deadline as walk-ins will not be accepted. Registration will close on Wednesday, February 11, 2016 . “YOGA & MINDFULNESS for KIDS” - Marianne Caruso, M.Ed., CLYT - A 4 week series on learning how to use the “Pause” button! Movement & Mindfulness is essential for the development of healthy minds and bodies. Please join me as we go an adventure to explore and integrate games, kindness, and yoga practices to help raise self-awareness of when to use the “pause” button throughout our busy days. Stress happens for students of all ages and excessive stress leads to unbalanced emotions and behaviors Yoga & mindfulness exercises have been shown to positively influence the brain in creating emotional balance to promote optimal learning. Classes will be on Tuesday’s at the Donaghue School in Merrimac from 5:30pm-6:30pm (music room). Max. of 12 students The dates are: Tuesday’s March 1, 8, 13, and 22 Cost $30.00 . www.prsd.commed.
