Junior Winter Color Guard
Signups are now underway for the 2014-2015 Pentucket Junior Winter Color Guard season. This program will be offered through the Pentucket Community Education Program. To register, go to the "ways to register"link on the left side of this page!
This is a 6 month program where students will learn the basics of dance and the art of flag spinning. Participants will also learn a choreographed show and compete as a team in the New England Scholastic Band Association Circuit. Students will be instructed by the same team that teaches the high school winter guard. There is no prior experience necessary.
Winter Color Guard is known as the "Sport of the Arts". It combines the elements of flag spinning with interpretive dance, movement, vivid storytelling and imaginative costumes, and what results are dynamic, athletic, and theatrical performances!
For those unfamiliar with the color guard activity, you may see the 2104 undefeated Pentucket High School Winter Guard team by visiting the Pentucket Music Website at pentucketmusic.com and click on “Watch the Winter Guard”.

The arts are an integral part of the human experience and, therefore, an essential component in the education of all people. They have equal value with all other intellectual and creative pursuits and enable us to celebrate and preserve our diverse cultural heritage. Students of the arts actively participate in and experience their learning, using all of their senses while discovering and developing their own unique intelligences and learning styles.
The mission of the Pentucket Regional School District Arts program is to foster creative expression in students by providing the essential skills and knowledge necessary for those who wish to pursue a career in or have a passion for the arts. We also seek to create a sensitivity to and respect for the arts in all students, enhancing the quality of their lives and an understanding of the diversity of human expression in the global village in which we all live.
Updates to the Community Education Arts division are coming soon. Please revisit our site in the up coming weeks to take advantage of these exciting changes!
