PENTUCKET REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Preschool and Kindergarten Programs  

Dear Families,

The 2026-2027 preschool year has been a very exciting and informative year.  For the first time this year, we were able to provide a full day preschool option to families.  Of course, from the first half of this year, we have learned that we need to make more changes in order to maintain (and potentially expand) this level of programming for our preschool children.

We are writing to share important updates regarding our preschool program for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen and enhance the preschool experience for children, families, and staff, all preschool classrooms will be consolidated into one centralized location at Dr. F.N. Sweetsir Elementary School.

Having the program in one building will allow us to provide more consistent programming, added preschool leadership support, and clearer aligned operational practices. Additionally, there will also be updates to tuition, registration, and program policies. These steps are intended to support the long-term sustainability of the preschool program while maintaining a high-quality learning environment for our youngest learners.

We understand that changes in location can raise questions for families, and we are committed to supporting you through this transition. 2026-2027 Registration
Pentucket PreK enrollment opens online on January 20, 2026.  Registration is for new students only.  Families who are already enrolled in preschool will be receiving information from the schools directly on January 20, 2026. There is a non refundable registration fee of $75 for new student registration.  Please use the link here to register beginning on January 20, 2026

Preschool for 2025 - 2026

For families who would like to enroll in our school-based preschool programs for the 2025 - 2026 school year, enrollment can be completed online:

For general education entrance to the preschool programs, enrollment slots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis (contingent upon screening and the receipt of completed paperwork). A deposit will be required once a slot is confirmed for your child. Prior to paying a deposit, families who would like to learn more about the different programs can contact a staff member listed below. Students may attend preschool programs in all three towns if they have turned 3 by September 1, 2025.

Information regarding the current preschool programming options and tuition rates can be found to the right. The rates listed here are for the current school year and tuition rates are subject to change for the 2026-2027 school year.

Kindergarten for 2026-2027

The district will begin its kindergarten registration process on February 2, 2026. Pentucket offers free full-day kindergarten programs for all children who are age 5 on or before September 1st, 2026.

Information sessions will be held at each elementary school for families who want to learn more about the educational experience in the Pentucket Regional School District.  Sessions will be held from 6:30pm - 7:30pm on the following dates:

April 9th - Sweetsir School
April 16th - Bagnall School
April 16th - Page School 

Screenings will occur on April 27th & 28th by appointment during school hours.
